Whitney Thompson; Plus-size supermodel, spokesperson for NEDA and creator of "Supermodel".

My goal is to encourage and inspire you to celebrate your miraculous, exquisite, and unique body. I want you to resist the negative messages being sold to you by the media. You are beautiful. You are unique. Here, we want to help you remember that.

If I can convey one message to you:
Healthy is Beautiful. Beautiful is not a size, not an age, and not a procedure. Healthy is beautiful."

“Beautiful” is celebrating the characteristics and qualities of your body, while nourishing and exercising
it to be as uniquely healthy and fit as only you can be. We are all created differently and I want you to stop trying to fit into a mold that someone else has defined as "beautiful". No one size will ever be accepted by everyone and it's important to accept that we are all different. I want you to be the best that you can be.

Your comments are welcome here, even if we don't agree. I appreciate all comments as long as they don't hurt others.

Always remember, life is too short to not live like a SuperModel!

To Clarify...

My last interview was a little abrasive and I'm not apologizing for that, but I want to make it clear that I do still model full time and I love my job! Modeling is extremely important to me, but the industry does infuriate me. Still, I have hope that the industry will get better. That's why I model. I am trying to make a difference. I wouldn't complain about all the awful things going on if I wasn;t willing to offer solutions.
Also, I wasn't trying t make it sound like Crystal Renn did anything wrong! She is an amazing girl, completely a sweetheart and truly a champion for plus models everywhere. I fully support her, I just don't like Chanel cutting her off at the shoulders in her "plus" add, but that isn't her fault. If you have any other questions, please let me know by posting them on this blog. I am more than happy to answer them! XoxoX

  1. Whitney,

Your interview was amazing! I am currently in my second month of treatment at an eating disorders clinic in Canada and you are a wonderful role model. You are truly inspirational. Keep it up!

  2. Hey Whitney,

How do you feel about Crystal Renn's recent weight loss and her interview with her agency explaining that she would need to have a "binge eating disorder" to maintain her size 12? Especially after writing her book explaining that her body wanted to remain healthy at that size 12 after recovering from anorexia?

I think it sends an extremely confusing message and is a little similar to your thinner pictures that surfaced after winning ANTM, yes?
